About CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support

A Certificate IV in Ageing Support comes with a combined approach of both theory and hands-on training. It reflects your role as a senior support worker who is authorized to perform specialized functions. The course will guide you on delivering quality service, facilitation, and evaluating personalized service scheduling and delivery. Learners will gain comprehensive knowledge and skills when it comes to personal care and providing support to the vulnerable community. You will follow a client-centered approach with effective communication skills.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements, however all students must:

  • Be 18 years or over
  • Have the physical capacity to work as an Individual support worker
  • Pass a National Police Clearance
  • Posses Literacy, Language and Numeracy Skills at ACFS level 3,

Delivery Methods

We primarily offer two delivery modes for the qualification.

Face to Face Delivery: Delivering the training sessions as scheduled either one-on-one or in a group. To ensure maximum effectiveness, students will be learning topics one by one and undertake hands-on opportunities.

Self-Paced Learning: Undertake learning and evaluation assessments between face-to-face consultations. Typically, it is communicated through the instructor.

Duration

The duration of this course is 1642 hours delivered over 68 weeks (60 weeks plus holidays). This will consist of 54 weeks (2 days per week) of classroom delivery at 8 hours per day, plus 6 weeks of work placement at 20 hours per week.

872 hours are allocated to face-to-face classroom sessions.

750 hours of the course are allocated to projects, private study and assessment work

120 hours are allocated to work placement
